State of The Art Digital Cinema Opens at Hambleton Forum

Hambleton Forum takes up the baton from Whitby Pavilion to become Cine Yorkshire's second digital cinema venue! A state of the art digital projector, screen and sound system has just been installed, meaning that local audiences and visitors now have access to the very latest film releases at the standard you would expect from a multiplex cinema.

The screening programme opened on Saturday 17th September with a special FREE screening of Cars 2 to celebrate. The upcoming programme is now online, featuring box office smashes including Bridesmaids and Water For Elephants (pictured) for the grown ups and Dolphin Tale and Spy Kids 4 for younger cinema fans.

Hambleton Forum is also taking part in Cine Yorkshire’s Contrast/brilliance*, festivalwith screenings of Here’s A Health to The Barley Mow (30th September) and Shooting Time – Ian McDonald (24th September).

Hambleton Forum is a large multi-purpose facility owned and run by the local authority. With several meeting rooms as well as the large performance hall, it hosts a wide range of events ranging from bawdy comedy to presentations on Beethoven.

The cinema at Hambleton Forum is supported by Cine Yorkshire, Screen Yorkshire, Hambleton Disctrict Council and Northallerton Rotary.

After a fantastically successfully year as Cine Yorkshire’s first digital venue, Scarborough Borough Council have taken the decision to invest in the projection equipment put in place at Whitby Pavilion by Cine Yorkshire, meaning that audiences in Whitby, North Yorkshire will have a permanent access to a state of the art digital cinema.
